Default Anybody got a spare wheel?

While I was cleaning up my bedroom/den/racing area I found a few steering wheels...

After I took this picture I came up with one more besides the two that we use for rFactor currently!

You'd think I'd be able to drive better than I do with all that experience laying around.

I see a sidewinder in there, the non-force variant.

Actually the Sidewinder is force-feedback, but I haven't found the right config on the USB adapter to activate it yet...

Those are for: N64, PS2, Dreamcast and PC... and I can run any of them on PC via USB.

I can't seem to walk buy a wheel at a garage sale or Goodwill-type store without buying it. On my birthday on last Monday I bought the Thrustmaster Pro Digital that I am using now for $5. Thrustmaster claims it must be a Thrustmaster Pro Digital 2 because they say the original isn't compatible with XP and I keep telling them it works fine.

hey Dave, not to get off topic but is there a newsletter you can sign-up for for the Pitwall project stuff?

I'm waiting on that engineering application cause that's exactly what I enjoy doing.

I'll drop a line to Sn34ky and see what's happening. Lately the big talk from others has been wanting to port rDisplay to PSP, which I don't see happening anytime soon as the Win95 hack is slow and I don't know how they expect to do TCP/UDP without a network!

I did pick up a nice 7" display for my rDisplay though... another one of my fall into deals... $200 unit at Target - $16.99 at the Goodwill, new in a sealed package.

Here's the latest from Sn34ky...
========
Hi DaveP,

Thanks for promoting Pitwall displays

I am still working on the Engineer's program. There's been a delay because i was building a custom display for a racing team.

But i have all the time now to work on the Engineer.
========

So it sounds like it's back in development.

No, unfortunately it isn't touch... I wonder if SideWindow and the iPaq will work with it...

the reason why im lookin for a touch screen is this ............

http://www.touch-buddy.com/forums/dr...ed-v1-1-a.html

simpler to use a screen instead of fumbling for buttons, and allowing alot more controls instead of the button-type control panels out there. the software is free like Sn34ky's idea but you adjust this stuff as ya need it..

Default Pitwall Project Engineer is available at a special price in Pre-Release form

Hey, House (and all), the Pitwall Project Engineer is pre-released, as in more features to come, but available now at a discounted price. It's 15 euros, which is $21.65 US at current exchange rates. By purchasing now you will get free updates to the release version. So basically you are saving by getting a pre-release version over the official release version price.

You can get to the Pitwall Project Shop through the link in my signature...

I imagine that it would... I've been eyeing an old touch screen at work that has been retired, but it is an rs232 unit and I don't know if TouchBuddy or any of the rFactor addons would work with it.

im eyeballing an 8" screen from innovatek for about 180 bux, if pitwall is supporting touchscreen, im all over it, so lemme know if this is the case. ebay has a good supply of the 8" screens available now

I actually walked out of the Goodwill without buying the Playstation V3 wheel that was there for $10... I've not been a big fan of the way they are designed for desktop racing and quite honestly I forgot how they feel to see if it would be good for parts for integrating.

Well, today we visited our new Goodwill store that opened yesterday...

Picked up a MOMO for $20 in good shape with all the original packaging, drivers and NASCAR Simracing.

I think we did good. But then my son's hard drive started flaking out, so I have to look into fixing that PC before we can enjoy it.
